Will you have enough? I help business owners and people over 40 answer that | Financial Adviser, Fleet | Retirement, pensions, planning and the April 2027 inheritance tax change | VouchedFor Top Rated 2020-2026.
Most people and business owners I meet are doing well. They just cannot tell if they have ‘enough’.
That question is where my work starts.
I am Geoff Day, a financial adviser in Fleet, working with clients across Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and London. I help people work out what the life they want costs, and how much they need to save to fund it.
I do not lead with a product or spreadsheet. I start with the life you want and build a plan on how you can get there.
Three groups of people tend to find me:
-Business owners who have built something impressive while their personal finances tell a different story. Cash sitting idle in the company. A pension they keep meaning to sort. No clear idea of what a future sale actually needs to deliver. We close that gap with a clear personal strategy and a target the business has to hit.
-People worried about pensions and inheritance tax. From 6 April 2027, most unused pension pots fall inside the estate for inheritance tax. If you have built a pension partly to pass on, the rules have changed. There is still time to realign your strategy. The earlier you look, the more options you have.
-People over 40 who want to know if they are on track. Old pensions scattered across former employers, a rough idea of the number, and no plan connecting today’s savings to the life you want later. We work out the number, the shortfall and the steps.
